ABOUT US

Donovan Group Holdings was founded in 2003 with the launch of Donovan Group LLC, an educational policy communications firm. Since then, the company has grown to include five companies:

Leadership Team

Joe Donovan, President and Founder
Joe Donovan, founder and president of Donovan Group Holdings, is a trusted communications professional.

Prior to starting Donovan Group Holdings, Joe served as a consultant to state legislators, mayors and various members of Congress. He also served as a partner and vice president of an education research firm, was a spokesperson and communications strategist for a Wisconsin state superintendent and worked as director in the office of U.S. Senator Herb Kohl.

A published author, Joe Donovan earned a Bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and a Master's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Joe, his wife Leah and their three children live in the greater Milwaukee area.

Steve Bailey, Senior Associate and Executive Editor
As Senior Associate for Donovan Group Holdings, Steve oversees operations for the Donovan Group LLC and is Executive Editor of ProPRcopy LLC.

Before joining Donovan Group Holdings, Steve served as campaign manager for a U.S. Congressional campaign and worked with various nonprofit advocacy organizations in Wisconsin, Illinois and New York. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh with a degree in Journalism, and has experience as both a print and broadcast news reporter.

After graduation, Bailey served a year in the AmeriCorps national service program. He currently lives in Milwaukee and is pursuing a Master's degree in Public Policy.

Tim Backes, Associate Editor
As an Associate Editor with ProPRcopy LLC, Tim works closely with many of the firm's varied list of clients. An experienced marketing copywriter and blogger, he has written content for organizations that span a wide range of industries. Tim started with the company as a junior copywriter, moving up the ranks quickly to his current position.

Backes received a Bachelor's degree in English from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He also writes for a popular sports blog.

Kyle Danowski, Associate Editor
Kyle is an Associate Editor for ProPRcopy LLC who has written and edited copy for a wide range of organizations across numerous industries. He works directly with many of the company’s largest clients, and has extensive experience in marketing, social media, blogging, strategic communications, technical writing and journalism.

Before joining ProPRcopy, Danowski served as the marketing director for a firm specializing in ecommerce sales. He was also a marketing and public relations specialist for a large nonprofit organization based in Wisconsin. Danowski attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, majoring in Strategic Communications, and currently lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Becky Huenink, Associate
Ranging from project follow-through to editing and proofing documents, Becky is the point of contact for many Donovan Group LLC clients. She also assists with the operations of ProPRcopy LLC.

After receiving her Bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, Becky served as a social worker, assisting individuals with special needs. She also worked with the Wauwatosa School District as a liaison between school staff, parents and business members collaborating toward a safe, united community
